You write bad prompts on ChatGPT.

You commit the 7 deadly sins of prompting:

  • No context ("Analyze this" with zero background)
  • Vague instructions ("Write about marketing")
  • Treating it like Google (questions vs prompts)
  • Asking for everything at once (20 tasks in one)
  • Not iterating (one prompt and done)
  • Forgetting to specify format/tone
  • No examples of what you want

The best prompt follow this rule:

☑ [Here's what I need, and who you must be to do it]
+ [Here's one/ more good examples of what I want]
+ [After your first draft, I will tell why it's bad/good]

  • In others words:
  • Role + Specific guidelines
  • Example(s) of past good outputs
  • Iterations from your own judgment

This is "AI + Human". Not "AI instead of Human".
